Friesian Stud:
As one of the world's oldest equine breeds, the Friesian is native to the northern province of Friesland in the Netherlands, where it is deemed a national treasure. With it's powerful muscles beneath it's lustrous black coat it has enchanted people for centuries. Friesians where first imported to South Africa after the Anglo-Boer war in 1902 to improve the 'Flemish horse' (Vlaamse Paard). Nowadays it is popular in harness as well as in the show-ring, competing in dressage upto international levels.

South African Miniature Horses are not ponies, dwarfs or genetic errors, but scaled-down models of full-sized horses. S.A. Miniature Horses make ideal companions or pets. They are excellent as first horses for small children as well as good companions for retired people and the disabled.
